There is an awesome and unseen power at work. Outside of our Creator, it is possibly the most powerful force in the universe. This power is your mind.

It is a creative power - think of all these things that exist now but did not exist just a few years ago: 100,000 ton ships that float on the ocean, 1,000 tons of steel that fly through the air, trillions of words that fly through the Internet.

If a person simply concentrates long enough on an ideal or dream, this power will begin looking for, and find, a way to accomplish that ideal or dream. Concentrating on it long enough sets up the creative forces necessary for accomplishment.

We cannot long for something today and tomorrow, however, and then let it go when it doesn’t magically appear the next day. We have to hold on to the dream with the tenacity of a pit bull, constantly visualizing ways that lead to accomplishment. When your mind gives you a possible step to move you in the direction of the dream, go with it - and never say it can’t be done.

All men who have achieved great things have done it by first imagining the possible. A picture is built in the mind and whether or not the possible becomes real is totally dependent upon the energy put forth in working towards that reality. Focusing on the dream and not the obstacles to achieving the dream, results in forward progress.

Those obstacles can kill the dream unless you pull it out and polish it every day. Before you go to sleep at night, take a few minutes to re-dream, adjusting it according to the accomplishments you’ve made towards realizing it. Often the path to the dream changes as you travel it. Keeping the dream foremost allows your mind to continue working on the solution to any obstacles that may present themselves.

The power of your mind will achieve your dream, but you have to do your part. Keep the dream alive!

“Just as we can’t jump ahead on the road to a physical location, neither can we jump ahead of the present to achieve our goals. As I often remind myself, envision the future but act in the present!” Betty Mahalik

As always, I welcome your feedback…
